Our Space Heritage – Frequency Generation

FEI has over 43 years experience in the design, manufacture and test of space hardware. FEI has manufactured over 5,000 modules that are in space. Many of these have demonstrated over 15 years of successful operation in their space missions.

Although each space program has its own specific requirements (performance, life, environment, etc.), FEI’s approach is to take maximum advantage of its prior proven in-space experience. To the extent possible, FEI employs common basic electronics and mechanical designs, power supplies, telemetry and control functions as well as proven parts, materials and processes.

In addition to their diverse nature, these applications are also environmentally demanding. Our high reliability products undergo rigorous qualification and acceptance testing including vibration, thermal shock, temperature/humidity, EMI/EMC, pyrotechnic shock, radiation hardening/survivability, etc.
