FEI Government Systems, Inc. (FEI-GSI),
a subsidiary of Frequency Electronics, Inc.
  FEI has over 43 years experience in the design, manufacture and test of space hardware in the following categories:

FEI is pleased to present its credentials for participation in satellite and spacecraft Master Clock and Frequency Chain programs requiring highly reliable, space -qualified Quartz Crystal Oscillators and Rubidium Vapor Atomic Oscillators, Frequency Generation and Distribution, Up-Down Converters, Receivers, DC/DC Converters, and Hybrids.

FEI has the following necessary attributes to assure successful programs:

• Overall Experience: Over 25,000 modules and systems fielded for various commercial, military, and space applicationsm with focus on Commercial-Off-The -Shelf (COTS) products for the military and robust products for space.

• Space Technology: FEI is vertically integrated and manufactures from raw materials quartz and rubidium oscillators as well as frequency synthesizers used in space programs. Consequently, availability and reliability are guaranteed.

• Manufacturing Facilities: FEI has HI-REL manufacturing facilities on Long Island, New York. These facilities include a Hi-Reliability manufacturing area that includes crystal fabrication, hybrid (thick/thin) manufacturing, test and environmental test labs, vibration, thermal vacuum and a temperature test facility.

• Competent Program Management: Hands-on program management team that fully understands the technical and programmatic customer requirements.

• Quality: FEI and its subsidiaries have a documented and implemented quality management system that satisfies the requirements of ISO 9001-2000. The quality assurance systems, production procedures, documentation and control systems, operator training and certification programs associated with these activities have been approved by Boeing Space Systems, Northrop-Grumman/TRW, Alcatel Alenia Space, SS Loral, Lockheed Martin, Orbital Sciences, Bell Aerospace, ITT Space, NASA/JPL, and various other US and international spacecraft companies.

Parts, Materials, Processes

Typically, all parts selected for the proposed reference oscillator have been previously qualified for use in the cited space programs with individual lots of sensitive semiconductor devices (e.g., regulators, etc.) being tested for adequate radiation hardness. FEI's normal policy for space programs ios to verify adequate radiation hardness by limiting production to one wafer or diffusion lot and subjecting that lot to an appropriate radiation lot Acceptance Test prior to formal part acceptance at FEI. In many instances, FEI has sufficient quantities of these critical parts in its inventory.

Radiation and Survivability

FEI has many years of design and test experience for survivability of its products in natural and man-made radiation environments. FEI units have successfully survived ground testing, simulating natural and man-made radiation, as well as enduring the severe radiation environment seen by Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 within the Jovian radiation belts. FEI hardware has been tested and qualified for radiation hardness on dozens of space programs. The Master Oscillator Group (MOG) for the MILSTAR Satellite has been verified to operate within specification for the 15 year mission in space as well as survive man-made threats.
